HELLO, Matthew! Before I discuss the Decisions of this week I must comment on our recent Hurricane Matthew. I had a scheduled trip to see my North Carolina family to celebrate Ali's birthday. I felt very guilty leaving when I knew such a great storm Cat 4 Hurricane was on its way, My family assured me they were prepared, which they were. I would like to thank all the people that prayed for all of South Florida. I do believe Florida, Georgia and South Carolina still need prayers. It is amazing how in such an emergency all people help each other. On a very cute note, my Ali told her Daddy to turn off this weather channel it is making Grandma cry, and by the way is Nico alright?
I am so excited to say I was informed by my Sister friend of another show......It is themed "Wild Florida" This show is in the Edison Museum located on Hutchinson Island, Florida. This is a hour drive away from my house, but I am not convinced it will be worth it. This is one of the show where all the work is for sale and they do take a commission for the museum., and it is a large one of 40%...they do tell the artists to price accordingly. I feel that may deter customers to purchase. Now I am doubting myself, again. Also the drop off date is the same day as an outdoor show I am in. (Which means someone will have to do that for me...that is a BIG favor as its an hour away.)is December 4, 2016. Pick up is January 29, 2017. That is a long show. Do I put my work in???? A submission fee of $35., with the prestige of of being juried into a 5 Florida Counties, and monetary Awards. The chances of selling maybe minimal as it is in a vacation destination, The Museum hours are 10 - 5, every day. So do I enter ar do I pass?
DEADLINE is November 11.......I have time..... any Suggestions????? Advise????
There is a theme.....WILD FLORIDA.... I'm not sure my artwork is WILD enough????
Are Flamingo's wild? What about rain? Is that wild? More thinking must be done to decide what to enter., the FLAMINGO'S, RAINS A COMIN', or the above abstract ?????
