This is the mechanism used to pull up the anchor of the Western Union Schooner, I loved the color and the action of the chains. She is a Historical Ship that has a colorful history. She was originally built to lay cable and telegraph wires from 1939-1974. Now she is retired and goes out daily for short Sunset Cruises. As I vacation in Key West every year, I always take a sunset cruise on her to enjoy the ocean, and sunset. The Western Union is the Flagship of Florida, and my favorite Schooner. I have painted her many times.
